I made her a quilt for the shower and beyond.
I got the idea from here:

I had "M" go with me to pick out the fabric that she liked since it would be living in the baby's room on the wall (hopefully for years to come).
Here are some things I did to put it together.
First I cut out all the pieces and sewed them together to get the top.
Next I made a paper pattern for the pockets and the watering can (I had two different can ideas).
Added the pockets.
Added the watering can.
Added some hand embroidery and some store bought applique butterflies
Quilted it, binded it, and presto..............
On the watering can it will say the date of the shower. On the square with the "Grow" it will say the baby's name, birthday, birth weight and length.
The other blank white squares are for the shower guests to sign.
SO FUN!!!

Thank you so much for the comments on my blog. There are no words but sometimes no words and just knowing people care and are hurting for us is better. I am amazed at how many read my blog and hurt for us. First, I had no idea that many read my blog, and second, that I am surrounded by people that care. Life goes on, it has to and we have to live for those that are still here and all the while just plain ache. Thank you for uplifting us in prayer. It means much because I haven't been able to pray much lately.
I love, love, love, the quilt! I've bookmarked the site. My son and his wife are trying for a baby now and so I see more quilts in my future. Love the whole idea behind the quilt. What a fun idea.
I have been behind on reading blogs but I perused through yours and caught up today. I would love to live below our budget and put some away in an emergency fund. Starting today! No more yarn, etc. I buy way too much and it is cutting into the tax savings.
I love this quilt! My kids are starting to talk about baby #2, so I've bookmarked the site. I have a lot of unfinished quilt tops..and knitting projects..and vow to stop that and actually finish something!
